Many clients have asked me the age old question of, Â "Should we stage our home for selling?" Â The answer is a resounding, "YES!"
Â
Let me give you an example. Â I listed a home for sale. Â The Sellers planned on moving out of State. Their home was tastefully decorated & staged. Â It showed well. Â We received excellent Feed Back and three very strong offers within the first 45 days of the list date.
Unfortunately, for those Sellers, they did not come to terms with any of those Buyers for various reasons, much to my chagrin.
In any case, they ended up moving to their new location and left the house clean and completely empty. Â
Then the Feed Back that we started receiving from the showings after they moved out was drastically different. Â The Buyers now complained about the floor plan, the carpet, the paint & the size of the kitchen. These were all new complaints that we had not heard when the home was tastefully furnished. Â
On top of that, the Feed Back now stated that the list price was too high.  This was very surprising since we had recently received three very strong offers.  Therefore, I can only conclude that the nicely decorated, furnished and staged home showed immensely better than the empty home.  Also, Buyers gave better Feed Back and were willing to pay more for the home when it was staged!

Â
This real life example clearly taught me that a staged property shows better and therefore will garner a higher sales price quicker than  an un-staged property.  So, if you are thinking of selling, call me, Lynda Risch, 612-290-7607.  We need to make a plan of things for you to do to get your property ready for the market.  It's important!
